"The club seeks to provide a positive experience for all its members by offering a program that is challenging, yet fun. While emphasis on swimming strokes, techniques and speed are our main focus, our program also strives to develop character, sportsmanship and enjoyment of swimming as a lifelong activity."

Students in grades K-12 are welcome to participate in Mohonasen's Age Group Swim Club which introduces students to competitive swimming while building their skills. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced swimmer, there's a place for you on this team! The Mohonasen Marlins Swim Club competes in the North Country League in the fall/winter season and the Suburban League in the summer season. The Club is sponsored by the Mohonasen Central School District. The club seeks to provide positive experiences for all its members by offering a program, which is challenging, yet fun. While emphasis on swimming strokes, techniques and speed are our main focus; our program also strives to develop character, sportsmanship and an enjoyment of swimming as a lifelong activity.

The swim club is self-funded by the parents and swimmers through fundraising, registration fees, concession stand and donations. The club is responsible for coach's salaries, league and meet fees, ribbons and awards, end of season banquet and misc. supplies to maintain the club.

The only prerequisite skills are the ability to swim 25 yards freestyle, be able to swim 25 yards back stroke and be "deep water safe." As a general rule of thumb, any student who has passed Level 4 in Mohonasen's Saturday Learn-to-Swim classes would be amply qualified to participate in the Swim Club. Swimmers will be divided into groups according to ability, rather than age. The summer season runs from June-August and the Fall/Winter Season runs from October-February.

Swimmers are given instruction in all four competitive strokes (butterfly, back stroke, breast stroke and freestyle). They also learn racing dives, turns and other rules of competitive swimming.
