Welcome to Mrs. Vumbaco's Class Page!

Exciting News: Mrs. Vumbaco's Class has just been awarded a $500 grant from The Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence!  This grant will allow the students to continue a growing theme that was begun in the class last year.  With the assistance from Mr. Michael Klugman, District Science Administrator, our students will construct two raised landscape beds that will be located near the main entrance to Pinewood.  Mrs. Vumbaco, the classroom staff and students, along with Mr. Hunt will then fill the planters with soil and plant perennials.  Students will use some of the research they did last school year to determine the type of soil that is needed for the plants to grow.  Students will also be researching to determine the best types of plants to help beautify our school.  We hope to construct the landscape beds by the middle of October.  Please check this page again as we get closer to Construction Day!

Members of The Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence and Mrs. Kline after approving our grant request.  Thank you to this special group for making this exciting project possible.

Thanks to Mr. DeLuke for delivering such great soil and Mr. Hunt for supplying the compost for our project!

Wow!  This sure is a lot of dirt!

We're almost done mixing the soil and compost!

Students take time to plant bulbs carefully.
