Rotterdam Elks Lodge donate dictionaries to third graders

Photo of Rotterdam Elks Lodge members, Officer Jeff Jackson and Principal Michael JohnsonThird graders at Pinewood Elementary School will never be at a loss for words after representatives from the Rotterdam Elks Lodge donated 250 dictionaries on Nov. 30.

EVERY third grade student, along with students from Mrs. Vumbaco's class, received a dictionary and bookmark that said, "I'd rather eat bugs than drugs" on it. School Resource Officer Jeff Jackson talked to students about the harmful effects of drugs and how to say no if asked to try them.

Thank you to Ray Slingerland, Mel Oliveira and Pedro Rosa for bringing the dictionaries in.
