A
handful of Mohonasen High School students have been busy
at work to install permanent sculpture structures in the
school's courtyard.
High
School art teacher Lars Turin has helped his students to
envision the structure, collect materials and oversee
the installation. Junior Devis Ceci, senior Joe Jasenski
and senior Nick Tommasone (shown at right) are digging
the foundation for their permanent structure, which is
scheduled to be complete by the end of Regents week. The
sculpture will consist of a broken tile and mirror
facade.
A
second installation is being created by two Mohonasen High School
seniors, which will also be permanent in the courtyard.
Shown from left to right (photo at left) are Senior Danielle
Everetts, high school art teacher Lars Turin, and Senior Allison McAllister.
Their goal is to finish the installation by the end of the school
year. The sculpture is going to be called "Release" and is about breaking through —
which they would like to leave open for personal interpretation.
