At its regular meeting on Monday, August 13, the Mohonasen Board of Education presented School Resource Officer Ptl. Jeff Jackson with the Board of Education Recognition Award.
“The Board of Education Recognition Award is given to someone who has contributed significantly to the success of Mohonasen,” said board member Nancy del Prado. “When we went through the nominations, there was one individual who stood out, and that was
Officer Jeff Jackson.”
Jackson has served 25 years as a police officer in Rotterdam, and has been a School Resource Officer at the Mohonasen School District for a number of years. A few of Jackson’s many accomplishments here in the district include teaching bike safety to students, spending time with at-risk students, and obtaining grant money to fund safety projects. Jackson strives to help Mohonasen stay ahead of the curve when it comes to safety in our schools and in the community. He always makes himself available to staff and community members whenever help is needed.
Jackson accepted the award with his family, friends and co-workers present.
He was given a Mohonasen logo pin with three Indians on it,
representing the three Indian tribes, “Mohawk,”
“Onondaga” and “Seneca” that make up the “Mohonasen” name. This pin was created by the Mohonasen Board of Education a few years ago.
Thank you to the August family for nominating Officer Jackson for the Mohonasen Board of Education Recognition Award.
Congratulations to Officer Jackson, and thank you for all that you do!
