Go Home Early Drill scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10

On Monday, Nov. 10, the Mohonasen Central School District will be holding its annual Emergency Go Home Early Drill. Students will be dismissed 15 minutes early (high school and middle school at 1:55 p.m. and Bradt and Pinewood at 2:35 p.m.). This will be the only opportunity for students to take school transportation home on this day. Unless students are staying for athletic practices/try-outs or have a pre-scheduled meeting, they will be expected to leave the building and report home at this time.

Parents should be receiving a letter from their child(ren)'s school this week regarding the drill. Download letter from Mohonasen High School (PDF), Draper Middle School (PDF).

The district practices several types of emergency drills and planning throughout the school year. If there was an actual emergency and students had to be evacuated to an alternate location, parents would be notified and would find more information through the PACE automated phone system, School News Notifier (SNN) and the district Web site (www.mohonasen.org).

In the case of an actual emergency, the evacuation plan may vary depending on the situation and the district Web site will be updated periodically to give parents the most up-to-date information. Parents should ensure that all emergency contact information, including cell phone numbers and work phone numbers are up to date.

Additionally, parents who are not currently signed up for SNN are strongly urged to do so. Click here to sign up today. SNN sends district and school news and alerts directly to your e-mail inbox.

Student safety and communication with parents is one of our highest priorities. All parents are reminded to make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival home of your children as the result of the Go Home Early Drill on Monday, Nov. 10. Anyone with questions about the drill should contact their child's principal.
