There
was a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 12th at the Trading Post
school store to celebrate the opening of the in-school
branch of the First New York Federal Credit Union. The
"Warrior Branch" will be run by student volunteers in
conjunction with Schenectady-based First New York
Federal Credit Union. The Warrior Branch will be open to
students and staff on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
At this branch, new accounts can be opened and financial
transactions conducted. During the course of the school
year, students and credit union staff will work
cooperatively on training and carrying out the
operations of a branch office. In addition, Mohonasen
students will create, execute and report on various
marketing campaigns aimed at promoting their branch. At
left, Mohonasen High School senior Pat Grasso works
under the direction of a First New York staffer. First New York FCU is a not for profit financial
cooperative with more than 27,000 members. Learn more at www.firstnewyork.org
