The Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence granted teachers Kim Coelho and Kim Brassard $2,500 to start a “Book Nook” at Draper Middle School.
The Draper Book Nook would be a place where teachers could go to select books across different content areas and at different reading levels for their students. For example, when a social studies teacher is teaching a unit on Ancient Egypt, he or she can go to the Book Nook to find a number of leveled readers on Egypt for students to read in addition to their textbooks. These same books could be used in their English Language Arts (ELA) classes as well.
Draper should be able to purchase hundreds of books with the Foundation grant. The plan would be to keep adding to the Book Nook library year after year.

groups, with the new Draper Book Nook.
