Hi, I am your new classroom "Traveling Dinosaur." My name is
"Dim Sum" or you may call me "Dimmy the Dinosaur." I love to travel.
In 2000 - 2001, I traveled to Antarctica, The South Pole, Greenland, Australia,
Atlantic City, and Florida!
I hope that any student, whose family may be traveling, will be willing
to take me with them and take my picture. I would love to travel with your classmates for
many years. When I return to your class, I will have many stories to share. I promise not
to eat a lot. I won' take up much space in a suitcase, and I will be quiet! Please help me
travel and bring wonderful pictures and stories back to the students in your classes. On
my trips last year, my traveling companion bought me a pin from each place I visited. I
always wear my pins on my back as a souvenir of my exciting travels!
During 2001 - 2002, I traveled with some great 5th grade
students. I took a trip to the province of Ontario, in Canada and I dined at my host's
grandpa's restaurant. I even learned to speak some French! "La nourriture chinoise
était délicieuse et j'ai eu un temps merveilleux apprenant à parler français!"
In November I went to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in
Edgewater, Maryland with some CROW Team teachers! We studied about life in the Chesapeake
Bay and plan to return with 6 Pinewood students in April, 2002.
My next really big trip was to China! Not only did I go to China, but I
was able to help welcome a new sibling into one of our student's family!
Please ask your parents to send in a note to your
teacher if you would like Dimmy to accompany you on a trip this year.
