ELA
Summer Reading is Here!
Come in and sign out a bag of books today! (Book bags are at the end of the third grade hallway.) If you read 10 bags over the summer, your name will be announced on the morning announcements, your picture will go on the bulletin board, and you will receive an ice cream coupon! Happy Reading!

MATH
Summer Math Fact Practice!
Keep practicing your speed (addition and subtraction)!

We will use your addition facts to learn our multiplication facts! Practice your facts each night. (Practice with flash cards, dry erase boards, or check out the web sites listed below!)

SOCIAL STUDIES
Look around your community. Who works in your community? Can you draw a picture of three people who work in your community and label the pictures? Then write down what they do in complete sentences. Don't forget your capitals and punctuation!

SCIENCE
In third grade we study plants. Plant some seeds this summer and watch them grow! Measure how tall they grow and chart the growth on a graph! Don't forget to label the graph. Can you draw a picture of your flower and label the parts you know?

KID CORNER:
Try National Geographic for Kids or Sports Illustrated for Kids for fun reading.

Our class loves the great new Science and Social Studies books now available at the library. Have you visited the public library this week?

Looking for something else to do? Start a journal! Decorate a composition notebook with pictures from a magazine or stickers. Make daily entries about what you do everyday. Visit a special place in your community. Visit a museum, go for a hike, or ride a bike! Glue in some pictures or draw a picture of what you saw. Then write about what you did. Don't forget to add important and interesting details!
