This is a Web Quest for elementary students to identify insects. Students will be able to compare the characteristics of insects to other animals.
Primary elementary students will learn about insects.
Students will use the computer with the Internet to gather information about insects. Students can work independently at school or home for this project. Students can participate in a full class instruction in a computer lab to benefit by using this site.
Standard 1: Analysis, Inquiry, and Design Students will use mathematical analysis, scientific inquiry, and engineering design, as appropriate, to pose questions, seek answers, and develop solutions.
Standard 2: Information Systems Students will access, generate, process, and transfer information using appropriate technologies.
Students will seek information from given web sites to determine if an animal is an insect. Students will read questions and analyze pictures to determine the details about insects then compare various animals to these criteria.
Students will apply new learning by successfully completing the tasks given on this site.
