Learners: Grade 2 students will use this On- Line research lesson to explore land forms and bodies of water. Definitions of key vocabulary is included to support learning in this Social Studies lesson. The students can work independently or as a class in a computer lab learning environment.
Resources: Students will use the computer with Internet access to use this lesson. The worksheet may be printed for written response to the questions.
Social Studies
Standard 3: Geography Students will use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate their understanding of the geography of the independent world in which we live-local, national, and global- including the distribution of people, places, and environments over the earth's surface.
Math, Science, and Technology
Standard 2:Information Systems Students will access, generate, process, and transfer information using appropriate technologies.
Process: Students can print the worksheet to write answers to the questions provided in the treasure hunt. Vocabulary words about land forms and bodies of water are provided to assist the student as needed. Students will read questions, then use the given link to seek the answers.
Evaluation: Students will
write responses to the treasure hunt on the printable worksheet to hand in
to the teacher, or review the information in the class orally.
