Odyssey of the Mind team collects books and games for flood victims
Dec. 14, 2011
On Dec. 10, the Mohonasen High School Odyssey of the Mind Team helped make the holidays a little brighter for Tropical Storm Irene flood victims when they brought over 1,500 donated new and gently-used books and an assortment of games to Schoharie Elementary School.
This effort was also recently featured on a local education blog, sponsored by Capital Region BOCES.
While at the school, team members played games with children while their parents selected games and books for them. They also wrapped the gifts for the parents.
The collection was part of a holiday community service project, “Odyssey Angels”, which is encouraged by the national Odyssey of the Mind.
