Students work to 'make a difference' in their community
Oct. 24, 2011
On Saturday, Oct. 22, Draper Middle School eighth-grade students and faculty participated in the Second Annual Make-A-Difference Day. This is a national event where people give back to their communities.
Mr. Scott Hays, assistant principal, started this last year with the eight-grade class. Since this year he is out on military leave, interim assistant principals Mr. Tom DiAcetis and Mr. Matt Rider continued with the planning and preparations for this day.
Approximately 50 students and staff members reached out in the community to senior citizens, and helped them with yard work, light housekeeping and yard keeping tasks. Students also worked to clean up Rotterdam’s Eunice Esposito (Fort Hunter) and Juracka parks.
