Students,
staff come together to 'Make a Difference'
Oct. 25, 2010
On Saturday Oct. 23, 28 Draper students and 13 teachers worked at 12 different locations in the community helping senior citizens with jobs such as yard work, window washing, and furniture moving. All together, the volunteers completed more than 100 hours of work.
In addition, Ms. Pacheco and Peers for Peace volunteers spent Make a Difference Day sprucing up the front of Draper school.
Make a Difference Day was started in 1990 by USA Weekend Magazine. It is held on the fourth Saturday in October every year and is a national effort to get people to help others in their own community. Since it started, more than 3 million volunteers have participated in events across the country.
