In this site you will be able to examine twelve different aspects of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803. Named the "Corp of Discovery" by President Jefferson, this expedition into the unknown regions of what is now known as the Western United States would become one of the greatest adventures in American history. The expedition members would make scientific discoveries, map and chart unknown territories, and establish contacts with dozens of new Native American groups. The intention of this website is to help students recognize and appreciate the hard work and determination that it took these people to complete the Lewis and Clark Expedition. |
