Comparing
and contrasting unicellular organisms and multicellular organisms
In unicellular organisms
the one cell carries out all of the life processes. Remember the 3

Examples of one celled
organisms are the paramecium, amoeba, and bacteria

Animals and most plants
are multicellular. They are made up of many cells. The cells in
multicellular organisms are specialized. They are not all the same.
The cells in multicellular organisms have different shape, sizes and
functions. The shapes and sizes of cells help them to perform their
jobs.
Cells that work together
form a tissue.
Tissues that work
together form an organ.
Groups of organs that
work together form an organ system.
Levels of organization in
a multicellular organism from smallest to largest:

Theory
All organisms are made of
one or more cells.
Cells are the basic units
of all organisms, and cells carry on all life processes.
Cells
come from other living cells.
