Mrs. Halvorsen's 6th Grade Math Policies

     Welcome to 6th grade math!  We create projects, play math games learn new concepts, and do lots and lots of practice. 

Students are expected to:
           be respectful
              act appropriately 
           participate in class
           complete class work
           complete homework
           be proactive - come see me when they need help

Everyday students are expected to bring a:
            positive attitude
            pencil
            binder
            calculator 
            text book & work book
            homework

What I expect of parents:
            support your child with their homework 
            provide a quiet place to complete their homework
            sign midterm progress report
            look at and compliment/comment on your child's progress

What students should expect from me:
             I will be prepared for your classes
             I will provide extra help at every advisory
             I will provide extra help at every block 5
             I will make classes fun and hands on when ever possible
             
What parents should expect from me:
             I will keep you informed of your child's grades at       
                  midterm with a progress report stapled in their agenda
            I will keep you informed of your child's marking period 
                  grade with a report card
            I will keep you informed of your child's behavior with  
                  either a note, a phone call, or an email
            I will respond to phone calls, notes, and emails in a timely 
                   manner
