HOLOCAUST GLOSSARY: TERMS, PLACES AND PERSONALITIES This site may be helpful for finding out who a certain person was or what some of the unfamiliar words mean. If there is a word or a name which you do not understand or know about,  simply use this page to provide a very short explanation of that word or to explain who the person was and why he or she was important at this time.

GENERAL SITES
These sites will be helpful for most of the topics which the students might be researching. It may be necessary to follow some of the links through more than one level in order to locate the desired information. Read the descriptions of the sites and look over a page completely before deciding that this site is not going to be useful. Sometimes the links at the bottom of the page (to other sites) will be the place which has the information you seek.

HOLOCAUST ENCYCLOPEDIA - The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's online encyclopedia containing articles, film, photographs, individual histories, and survival testimony.

MEDICAL EXPERIMENTS OF THE HOLOCAUST AND NAZI MEDICINE

THE HOLOCAUST: A LEARNING SITE FOR STUDENTS - This site uses text, historical photos, maps, images of artifacts, and audio clips to provide an overview of the Holocaust. It features information about Nazi rule, Jews in Germany, the "Final Solution," Nazi camps, and rescue and resistance.

HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS - An excellent educational resource abut the Nazi Holocaust of Jews in World War II. It includes interviews, photographs and audio.

THE HOLOCAUST (JSOURCE) - This site has a tremendous amount of information on many of the topics for this project, especially some of the more obscure ones. This is one of the sites, however, at which you will have to look carefully for more links since  the information available in this site is not always obvious from the initial list.

CYBRARY OF THE HOLOCAUST - This site is good, but you may have to use the site's search engine to find some of the links. This one has very good camp histories and links to the heroes and the rescuers of the Holocaust (Schindler, e.g.).

C.A.N.D.L.E.S HOLOCAUST MUSEUM - This site is not able to be bookmarked at the best frame. Therefore, when the site is on the screen, click on the line to the left which says "Learn about the Holocaust". It will bring up another frame with choices such as THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS, ADOLF HITLER and JOSEF MENGELE.

THE HISTORY PLACE - This site has biographies of Nazi leaders such as Hitler, Adolf Eichmann, and Rudolf Hess. Soon it may also have information on Hitler Youth. This site also has a World War II timeline and a Holocaust timeline which provide a large number of excellent links. If a date is not known, however, then you should skim the list and look for the "blue" words which indicate that there is a link to another site about that word. If you wish to go directly to the timeline, then just use this link instead. (Holocaust Timeline)

HOLOCAUST -  This insightful site has many helpful pages.  The following are some of the most important parts of this site.
Schindler link leads to a page on Oskar Schindler
Holocaust link leads to pages on People like Anne Frank and Raoul Wallenberg, the resistence and the Death Camps                                                                                                      Bios - biographies of the well known nazis such as Hitler, Mengele and Eichmann, etc.                                                                                                                                                       Links - leads to the Shoah Links - a huge listing of other sites on the Holocaust

THE HOLOCAUST: AN HISTORICAL SUMMARY - This site is basically just an overview of the entire holocaust, but as such it can be helpful to fit all of the pieces together and to place the topics into their proper perspective.

36 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST
This site is just questions with their answers, but it is very informative.

POLAND: THE HISTORICAL SETTING - This site is an excerpt from "The Path of the Righteous: Gentile rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust" published in 1993  and it provides a great deal of information about what was going on in Poland at that time.
