Organization:  It is important for you to stay organized throughout the year.  The best way to stay organized is with your ELA binder.  Binders should be divided into five different sections:  Writing, Literature, Vocabulary, Grammar, and New York State (NYS) Test Prep.  Your binders should contain class notes, assignments, tests, quizzes, and all other handouts from class. All materials should be organized in the appropriate section.  Keep your binders organized!

Absences:  If you are absent from school, you are responsible for all missed work.  You must see me for any work the first day you are back to school.  If you are absent for a school related event, you leave school early, or have signed in later- you are responsible for turning in any assignments due that day. Also, you are responsible for getting any work that you will be missing or have missed.  You should plan on handing in assignments before you leave.  Late assignments will not receive full credit.  Quizzes or tests that are missed due to absence must be made up during Advisory or Block 5, within one week.
