Mohonasen’s per pupil expenditure still among the lowest in the state
April 23, 2009
The New York State Education Department recently released the per pupil expenditures for districts across the state for the 2006-07 school year. Once again, Mohonasen is among the lowest in the area and across the state for the amount of money spent per student.
In fact, Mohonasen’s per pupil expenditure of $11,523 for 2006-07 is the lowest in Schenectady County, the lowest in the Suburban Council and the fifth lowest in the state.
The statewide per pupil expenditure average
for 2006-07 was $17,330.
In the Suburban Council, per pupil expenditures range from $15,106
to $13,728 (not including Mohonasen), and in Schenectady County it
ranges from $18,683 to $13,585 (not including Mohonasen).
“This demonstrates how Mohonasen continues to balance the needs of its students with the needs of its taxpayers,” Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Spring said. “We continue to offer high-quality services and academic programs while at the same time spending less per student than most other school districts.”
