Many activities in music class

Music class at Pinewood includes singing, dancing, and playing instruments, (including hand percussion and recorders) and games to learn basic musical skills and have a great time!

 

Playing Recorders

 

Recorders are a relative of the flute.  At Pinewood they become a regular part of classroom music starting in 3rd grade, to help students learn to read and have fun.

 

The recorders we will be ordering this year come in 6 colors - red, blue, green, yellow and purple; and a dark brown with a cream mouthpiece.  They cost [checking this year's price].  They belong to the student but will stay in school, so that they are always here on music day. Students leaving Pinewood take their recorders with them.

Selected 4th grade classes are working on this Chinese folk tale as a shadow puppet play.
