In November each year, the fifth grade students will take the New York State Social Studies Assessment. This test is a 2 day test and it is divided into 3 parts. Click each part below for some tips about this section of the test.

How to help your child succeed
GRADE 5 NYS ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS TEST
This is the next New York State Assessment for the fifth grade students. This test is administered in April this year. It is a 2 day test designed to test various skills.

READING SELECTIONS 20 multiple choice questions and 1 short-response questions

| DAY 2 | LISTENING SELECTION 4 multiple choice questions and 1 short-response question EDITING Students will read a paragraph and make the necessary corrections. |
GRADE 5 NYS MATHEMATICS TEST
The final New York State Assessment of the year will be the grade 5 math assessment. This takes place in May this year. This is also a 2 day test designed to test various concepts in mathematics.
