Classroom Guidance Lessons

What is Classroom Guidance?

 It provides preventatively focused instruction designed to address topics directly related to children’s social, emotional, and academic well-being. Solution-focused and preventive based activities will elicit student’s active participation, thereby increasing their confidence and ability to handle and resolve life’s obstacles and challenges.  Lessons will contribute to the development of student’s character, inter-personal skills, emotional intelligence and academic engagement; while maintaining alignment with the Guidance Departments principals of educational and occupational exploration.

 

Lessons are derived based on the New York State Learning Standards and the American School Counselor Association Standards.
