Pinewood students recognized at Character Counts Reception

More than 90 Pinewood students were recognized on Tuesday, June 9 at the school's Character Counts Reception. Each month during the school year is marked by a different character trait and students are nominated based on each of these traits—respect, responsibility, kindness, honesty, integrity, patience, citizenship and teamwork/sportsmanship.
"You are role models at Pinewood school," Assistant Principal Deborah Kavanaugh said of the students who were honored. Kavanaugh also recognized the parents and teachers in attendance at the assembly for the role they play in the lives of each student.
"It takes a village to raise children of character," she said.
Each student received a Character Counts medal. The medals were handed out by the Character Counts committee—Ms. Kavanaugh, Ms. Hunter, Ms. Ranze, Ms. Haynesworth, Ms. Rogers, Ms. Masick and Ms. Pollick.
