January Regents update
Dec. 23, 2011
State education leaders announced this summer that the January Regents Exams were being reinstated statewide. The exams had originally been cancelled as a cost-saving measure.
The exams scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24 through Thursday, Jan. 26 will be held during the regular school day, meaning that all students are expected to attend school on these days and students who are not taking exams will attend regular classes.
Monday, Jan. 23 is a regular school day, which all high school students are expected to attend.
All high school classes will be cancelled for Friday, Jan. 27. Students should attend only if scheduled for a morning exam.
In addition, please note that Tuesday, Jan. 24 is a previously scheduled 1/2 staff day. High school and middle school students will be dismissed at 10:50 a.m. and elementary students at 11:30 a.m. However, afternoon Regents Exams will be held on this day.
Anyone with questions should call the high school main office at 356-8300 or the high school guidance office at 356-8320.
