New class inducted to Athletic Hall of Fame

Mohonasen held its third annual Athletic Hall of Fame Reception on Tuesday, Dec. 27. This year’s inductees include a former Mohonasen and Draper coach, four former three-sport standouts, one two-sport athlete and a former football star.
The Mohonasen Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2011 includes:
Nicholas
Constantino (Class of 1964)
Constantino was a three-sport star at Mohonasen, achieving in soccer, basketball and baseball. In the 1963-64 basketball season, he led the Suburban Council in scoring, with an average of 20.2 points per game. After graduation he went on to Northeastern University on a basketball scholarship.
Phil DeCarlo (Class of 1992)
DeCarlo was also a three-sport athlete at Mohonasen, playing basketball, football and track. He was a member of the 1992 Section 2 Class B basketball championship team, and was named the most valuable player in the Section 2 tournament that year. DeCarlo holds the records for Mohonasen Boys Basketball highest average scorer at 22.1 points, and the most points scored over a career at 1,268 points.
Doug Erickson (Draper/Mohonasen
Coach, 1957-2011)
“Coach” led Mohonasen and Draper football and baseball teams, as well as football, basketball, baseball and track teams at Coxsackie-Athens, during his career. During his time as a varsity football coach at Draper, he won 105 games. He is also currently seventh all-time in Section 2 for baseball wins, with 415 from 1952-1985. He retired from his post as Mohonasen’s modified football coach this fall, after being with that team for more than 20 years.
Roger Harrison (Class of 1966)
Harrison earned eight varsity letters in track, football and basketball during the course of his high school career. In 1965 and 1966, he was the Section 2, Class B and Suburban Council high jump champion. He was also a leading scorer in basketball during the 1964-65 and 1965-66 seasons.
Aaron Smith (Class of 1998)
Smith was a Mohonasen football standout. In 1997, he was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Capital Conference, Second Team Class B All State Quarterback, and First Team All Area by the Times Union and Schenectady Gazette. He is also the highest scoring quarterback in Mohonasen’s history, averaging 42 points per game. Smith went on to play football at Wagner College, where he broke 11 school and conference records. From there he played arena football for the NY Islanders and Hawaiian Islanders.
David S. Wheeler (Class of 1963)
Wheeler was a Mohonasen basketball and baseball star. He was named the Schenectady Gazette Suburban Council Play of the Year and Schenectady Union Star Second Team All-County for basketball in 1962-1963. He was also on the Mohonasen Suburban Council co-champion baseball team in 1963.
Marshal (Buddy) Bradt Williamson, Jr.
(Class of 1964)
Williamson played varsity baseball, basketball and football at Mohonasen, and was awarded eight varsity letters during his high school career. He was named to the Schenectady County First Team for football in 1963 and was co-winner of the Four Chaplains Award for Rotterdam Athlete of the Year in 1964.
