Students celebrate National French Week

Students at French Week food tasting eventMohonasen students recently celebrated "La Semaine du Français" (National French Week) with events at both the high school and middle school.

Fifteen high school French students competed in the annual "Concours de la Mousse au Chocolat" (Chocolate Mousse Contest). Entries were sampled by a panel of invited administration and faculty judges. Students were invited to taste all of the entries after the winners were announced.

At the middle school, students joined in the French game "Le Furet" involving a song and a token representing a ferret. Draper French students and their parents also had an opportunity to sample and rate a variety of French cheeses in the annual "Goûter du Fromage" (Cheese Tasting). Boursin, a spreadable cheese with herbs and garlic, was the clear favorite as usual!

"Student opportunities to experience the cultures of other countries are an important part of learning a World Language at Mohonasen," adds Mohonasen French Teacher Maureen Geagan.
