Mohonasen website wins state award
Sept. 9, 2011
The
Mohonasen Central School District captured an Award of Merit for its
website in the
32nd annual Communications Contest sponsored by the New York School
Public Relations Association (NYSPRA).
About one-third of the more than 300 NYSPRA entries earned awards in 2011, in a closely drawn judging by communications professionals from around the country. For more on the contest, click here. Awards will be presented to winners at the 2011 NYSPRA Awards Luncheon on October 28, during the 2011 convention of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) in Buffalo.
This is the third year in a row the Mohonasen website has been honored with this prestigious award. In 2010 the district received an Award of Excellence and in 2009 an Award of Merit. The awards have come since the site was redesigned in the summer of 2008.
The district’s website continues to be the first and best source of information about Mohonasen. Not only is the site full of up-to-date school-related information, including summer reading lists and first-day-of-school pictures, but the site also has a wealth of information about the district’s budget and academic program. Visitors can also find an online calendar, a staff directory and a database of alumni who have chosen to register with us.
The site also includes several teacher and staff pages that contain a variety of classroom-specific information.
Traffic to the site was up by almost 12 percent over the last year. From Sept. 2010 to Sept. 2011, www.mohonasen.org received 129,969 unique visitors (registered by individual computers). In the year prior, the site received 116,476 unique visitors.
