Feb. 3, 2012

Ten seniors from the Engineering Design & Development (EDD) class competed in the Hudson Valley FIRST Tech Challenge held Jan. 29 at Pace University in Pleasantville. The students had to design, build, program and test a robot made from aluminum, plastic and sheet metal parts. The robot, with the help of student drivers, programmers and mentors, performed very well during the competition.

Thirty three teams from throughout New York state attended the robotics tournament. The MohonBots, team #4107, won three of six matches, and the team was selected as semifinalists for two awards: the "Promote Award," based on a video they submitted, and the "Design Award," based on their use of industrial design tools.
