Pinewood holds annual Flag Day celebration, debuts new school song
June 14, 2010
On
Monday, June 14, Pinewood school held its annual Flag Day
celebration. The event featured performances by the school's band
and choir groups, readings by the annual Flag Day essay contest
winners and a rap about the flag performed by "Uncle Sam" (Mr.
Burmeister). See pictures below.
In addition, this was a very special celebration for the school because students and staff debuted the new Pinewood School Song (mp3 format), which was written by local musician Brian Chevalier. The song's lyrics are as follows:
Citizenship
is our style
Make a difference everyday
Win or lose; good sportsmanship
That is how we play
Pinewood students are the best
We show respect and honesty
Just sit and watch and you will see
Responsibility
Come on
everyone let's cheer
Character counts throughout the year
So sing our song so proud and clear
Sing it loud... so all can hear
At Pinewood
we won't stop
At Pinewood character rocks
Here at
Pinewood character counts
Send the message across the nation
Let's work together
And show cooperation
Saying please and thank you
Good manners show the way
Through patience we show kindness
Each and every day
Come on everyone let's cheer
Character counts throughout the year
So sing our song so proud and clear
Sing it loud... so all can hear
Come on
everyone let's cheer
Character counts throughout the year
So sing our song so proud and clear
Sing it loud... so all can hear
At Pinewood
we won't stop
At Pinewood character rocks!
At Pinewood we won't stop
At Pinewood character rocks!
P-I-N-E-W-O-O-D
Pinewood!
Pinewood ROCKS!
