Students get real-life
science lessons on field trip to NJ, NYC
March 11, 2010
Earlier this month, Mr. Adam Barr and 37 students from the anatomy & physiology and advanced placement biology classes at Mohonasen High School, as well as others interested in pursuing a career in medicine -- along with three parent chaperones -- attended Life From at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ.
The group was able to witness a live triple bypass on a 61-year-old patient. During surgery the students were able to interact with the operating room staff and ask questions.
The group also traveled to South Street Seaport in New York City to view Bodies... The Exhibition. This enhanced the students understanding of how the body is composed and works.
