Emergency alerts are now available via text messages from SNN

The Mohonasen School News Notifier (SNN) e-mail alert system has been upgraded with a new text messaging feature. Those who subscribe to the emergency school closings and delays SNN alert can now add a cell phone number to their account so they can receive both text and e-mail messages.

Signing up is simple:

Existing SNN users should visit the SNN log-in page at https://snn.neric.org/mohon/index.cfm to access their account. (If you have forgotten your SNN password, please use the “forgot password” feature beneath the returning user log-in area).

Once you are logged-in, enter your cell phone number (no spaces or dashes) and cell carrier (i.e., Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) in the appropriate boxes. Click “Update Profile” and you are done.

New subscribers should visit the SNN log-in page at https://snn.neric.org/mohon/index.cfm, complete all of the profile options, and click “Create New Profile.”

Once a valid cell phone number and a carrier are on file for a subscriber, that subscriber will receive any future text messages about emergency school closings and delays. As with the typical SNN e-mail alerts, this is an opt-in system. Subscribers can log in to change or remove their cell phone number or to unsubscribe to SNN at any time.

At this time, text messages are used for emergency alerts only.
