Mohonasen choir and orchestra groups receive high ratings at Music in the Parks Festival

May 15, music groups from Draper Middle School and Mohonasen High
School traveled to Agawam, Massachusetts to perform at the Music in
the Parks Festival. The groups competed against musicians from
schools throughout the Northeast.
The Draper Select Choir received a "superior" rating and placed first in their division. They were also awarded for being the highest scoring middle school chorus overall.
Draper's 7th/8th Grade Orchestra and 6th Grade Orchestra competed in the same middle school division, where they both scored an "excellent" rating. The 6th Grade Orchestra ranked second and the 7th/8th Grade Orchestra won first place and an overall highest score in their middle school category.
The High School Orchestra and Select Orchestra also competed in the same division. Both ensembles received "excellent" ratings. The Select Orchestra ranked second, while the High School Orchestra won first place and received an overall highest score in their orchestra category.
After performing in the morning, all groups enjoyed a sun-filled day at Six Flags New England.
