Students prepare for trip back in time to the Middle Ages

To prepare for the much anticipated Draper Medieval Day on May 14, Mrs. Palleschi’s sixth-grade students started researching the Middle Ages in Social Studies class. Students had the option to weave a basket, create a marshmallow catapult or create a knight’s shield with a coat of arms.

Medieval Day is an annual event where students and teachers come to school dressed as kings, queens, nobles, knights, peasants and jesters. Students participate in a variety of Medieval games, tapestry-making, knighting ceremonies, and Medieval food-tasting.
