H1N1 Vaccine Clinic at Pinewood, Saturday, Dec. 12
Dec. 11, 2009
The Mohonasen Central School District and Schenectady County Public Health Services are teaming up to offer Mohonasen students, grades K-12, and eligible staff the opportunity to receive the H1N1 vaccination on Saturday, Dec. 12 in the gym at Pinewood Intermediate School. The vaccines and services are free. An informational packet from Schenectady County Public Health Services was sent home with all students on Thursday, Dec. 3. Please check your child's backpack or click on the links below for the notices contained in the packet.
If you are interested in having your child(ren) vaccinated at the clinic you MUST make an appointment. Schenectady County Public Health Services will begin making appointments for children and staff starting on Monday, Dec. 7. Parents may call to make an appointment or make an appointment through the Schenectady County Web site at www.schenectadycounty.com. (Please do not call or try to make an online appointment before Monday, Dec. 7.)
To make sure all calls are answered, Schenectady County Public Health Services is asking parents who have children with a last name beginning with A through M to call 631-0840 between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. staring on Monday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Dec. 11.
If your child's last name begins with N through Z, please call 631-0840 between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. staring on Monday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Dec. 11.
Your child will receive either the injectable or the nasal spray vaccine dependent on the results of the medical screening and vaccine availability. It is recommended that your child receive the vaccine even if you think that your child has had the flu.
The free clinic is limited to school-age children, therefore if you have children between the ages of 6 months and school age it is recommended that you check for vaccine availability with your child's primary care provider or call Schenectady Country Public Health Services to schedule an appointment at one of its on-site clinics.
