Dugan headed to UB

Mohonasen High School senior Michael Dugan is headed to the University at Buffalo next year on a swimming scholarship.

For the last six years, Dugan has been involved with the Mohonasen swim program—one year on modified and five years on varsity. As a sophomore, he qualified for states in the 100 meter butterfly and the 100 meter free relay. As a junior he was on a 200 meter relay that placed 12th at states. That same year he also placed 11th in the 50 meter freestyle, 5th in the 100 meter butterfly and 3rd in the 100 meter freestyle relay. Last year he became Mohonasen's first All American in the 100 meter butterfly and he currently has eight school records.

This December, Dugan will be swimming in the Junior Nationals after qualifying this past summer with the Albany Starfish Swim Club.
