Students learn writing process through magic, music and comedy

On March 15, Jim Mitchell from Academic Entertainment, Inc., presented a “6 + 1 Writing Fun” program to first- and second-grade students. The program mixed comedy, magic, music—and surprise visitor, "Toby" the parrot—to get students excited about writing.

The presentation reinforced the writing traits students study in their classrooms: ideas, organization, sentence fluency, voice, word choice, conventions and presentation.

This assembly was just one of the activities included in Bradt's "Marching into Reading" program.
