Swim team excels at sectionals; Five swimmers advance to states

Congratulations to the Mohonasen Boys Varsity Swim Team
who placed
third overall in the Section 2 championships on Feb. 13. Five of the
swimmers are advancing on to the state competition, Feb. 26-27, in
Buffalo.
The 200 Medley Relay came in first place. Jae Segatto, Nate Resila,
Mike Dugan and Matt Reiss finished with a state qualifying time of
1:38.19.
The 200 Free Relay placed first place as well. Nate Resila, Dylan
Woythal, Matt Reiss and Mike Dugan finished with a time of 1:29.26.
Dugan shattered his own Section 2 record in the 100 fly, qualifying
for All-American status, with a time of 49.63. Resila qualified in
the 100 breaststroke, coming in second with a time of 1:00.96.
Both Dugan and Resila qualified for states in the 50 freestyle;
Dugan came in second with a time of 21.33 (qualified for
All-American consideration); and Resila finished fifth with a time
of 22.49.
In addition, Resila received the Section 2 Scholar Athlete Award.
