Girl Scouts partner with Marines to make holiday donations
Dec. 10, 2008
On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the 14 five and six year olds that are part of Daisy Girl Scout Troop #2157 donated roughly 25 new toys to Toys for Tots. The toys were collected at Bradt Primary School by Commandant John Manning and Junior Vice Commandant Bob Stealey of the Electric City Marine Corps League.
"I just want to congratulate you on doing such a generous thing," Bradt Assistant Principal Arlene DiSiena said to the girls.
Last year these area Marines collected more than 20,000 donated toys, which are typically given to shelters, schools, social services and other worthwhile organizations that ensure that the toys find good homes.
