Mohonasen junior places 3rd in area Shakespeare
competition

Congratulations to Rachel Newman, a Mohonasen High School junior, who came in third place at the regional National Shakespeare Competition. The event, which was held at the William K. Sanford Town Library in Colonie on Feb. 8, was one of many nation-wide competitions sponsored by the English-Speaking Union of the United States.
At the competition, Rachel recited Sonnet 111 and performed Puck's monologue from "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Rachel represented Mohonasen against students from 10 other area school districts. This past January, she won the Mohonasen High School competition, which was sponsored by the high school's theater club.
