On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, the Mohonasen community remembered the tragic events that took place seven years ago on Sept. 11, 2001.

Displayed in the Mohonasen High School courtyard is a student sculpture titled, "Perpetual Rejuvenation," which is featured in the video shown here.

The sculpture was constructed in the spring and summer of 2008 by three Mohonasen students and retired Mohonasen High School art teacher, Lars Turin. As a rendition of the World Trade Center, the sculpture and it's broken glass facade represent strength and determination.

"September 11th changed our world forever," Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Spring said. "Today we remember the lives that were lost seven years ago, as well as the courage and determination of our fellow Americans."

Pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation, flags were flown at half staff on Sept. 11, from the beginning of business and returning to full staff at sunset.
