Mohonasen students participate in area music festival
Jan. 16, 2009
This
past weekend, 38 band, choir and orchestra students from Draper
Middle School and Mohonasen High School participated in the Suburban
Council Music Festival. This was a record number of student
representatives ever selected from Mohonasen.
In order to be chosen for this event, students had to prepare and perform a solo audition back in October. Students were selected for this prestigious ensemble along with students from the 12 other Suburban Council school districts. Once they were chosen to participate, students had to work with their teachers to prepare their music. Finally, on Jan. 9 and 10, students had the opportunity to work with a guest conductor to present these pieces in concert with their fellow musicians from around the area.
