Boys' and girls' basketball teams win holiday tournaments

Both of Mohonasen's varsity basketball teams were victorious this holiday season with wins in their respective holiday tournaments.
The boys' team won the Kirvin Cup for the second straight year, and third time in four years, by defeating Bishop Gibbons. The team was lead by Co-MVPs Jordan Macejka and Robert Tedesco. Macejka lead the team in scoring in the championship game with 21 points. Tedesco hit some big free throws, as well as the game winning shot with less than 10 seconds remaining to give the team a 52-50 victory. Mohonasen made it a clean sweep as the JV team also beat Bishop Gibbons to claim the title.
The girls' team won the Glens Falls Tournament by beating Schuylerville and then Glens Falls in the championship game. Nicole Adach was crowned tournament MVP and was leading scorer with 34 points during the two-day event. Leah McLain was also honored on the all-tournament team by leading Mohonasen with 17 points in the championship game against Glens Falls.
