Class of '09 graduation speakers selected

The 19th annual Graduation Speaker Contest
was held on Tuesday, April 28 for the class of 2009. Candidates in
the contest included Stormy Walker, Ryan Semerad, McKenzie Avisa,
Kyle Miller, Matt Ploetz, Hasan Wise, Amanda Laven, Audrey Sabatini
and Erin Barnes.
Judges for the competition included FOX 23’s Rich Becker, CBS 6’s Steve LaPointe and Erin Breslin, and Susan Whitaker of the Schenectady County Museum and Planetarium.
The two winners of the competition were McKenzie Avisa and Ryan Semerad. They will both be keynote speakers at this year’s commencement ceremonies at Proctor’s Theater on Saturday, June 27. Hasan Wise will give the greeting and Stormy Walker will deliver the farewell.
