Mohon soccer star signs with UNLV
Feb. 6, 2009
Mohonasen soccer standout Trey Jasenski recently signed his commitment letter to play soccer for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) next year. The varsity soccer captain led his team in goals this year, helping Mohonasen win it's first men's sectional title in 38 years.
Jasenski was also one of the top scorers in the Suburban Council, and was named first team all suburban and first team all state. He played on the varsity team all four years of high school, after being pulled up to varsity as an eighth grader during sectionals.
Jasenski is a member of Blackwatch, an area soccer club. It was at the club where he and several of his fellow Blackwatch teammates signed college commitment letters this week.
"I'm really excited, I'm happy to go to this school," he told a local reporter at the letter signing. "Ever since I joined Blackwatch, I wanted to go to college to play soccer. That was always a goal of mine.
