Mohon teams place at regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition

This past Saturday, Mohonasen hosted the Region 7 2009 Odyssey of the Mind Competition. More than 600 students made up 90 teams from Albany, Schoharie, Schenectady and Saratoga counties. The day-long competition challenged kids to come up with the most creative, original and imaginative solutions to open-ended problems.

All the students and coaches worked very hard to be ready for competition day. All three Draper Middle School teams placed: Team DeMarco placed 2nd in problem #1, Team Bennett/Mrozinski placed 2nd in problem #3 and Team Blanchard/LaBombard placed 3rd in problem #5. Team Bennett/Mrozinski will be advancing to the State Competition due to a lottery selection. States will be held in Binghamton on April 4.

From the high school, Team Blanchard/Dynysiuk placed 2nd in problem #3.

"I am very proud of all my 14 teams. Each and every one of my students and coaches are very dedicated to our Odyssey program. They are all number one in my eyes!" said Lori Ranze, the Mohonasen OM coordinator.
