Mohonasen student among eight inducted into National Technical Honor Society

With their induction, students were honored for excellence in their career and technical and academic studies at both Career & Tech and their home school.

The students had to earn a 92 average or higher at Career & Tech, an overall average of 85 or higher at their high schools, and have five or fewer absences.

Inducted into the National Technical Honor Society in late November were:

  • Angelina Brown of Selkirk, a Career & Tech Criminal Justice student who also attends Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School

  • Larissa Dean of Rotterdam, a Career & Tech Cosmetology student who also attends Mohonasen High School

  • Matthew Pellerin of Delanson, a Career & Tech Electrical Trades student who also attends Duanesburg High School

  • Ian Pengel of Altamont, a Career & Tech International Virtual Business student who also attends Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School

  • Katlyn Prescott of East Berne, a Career & Tech Early Childhood Education student who also attends Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School

  • Meghan Stilson of Schenectady, a Career & Tech Culinary Arts Tech Prep student who also attends Schenectady High School

  • Denise Willsey of East Berne, a Career & Tech Early Childhood Education student who also attends Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School

  • April Zwack of Delmar, a Career & Tech Early Childhood Education student who also attends Bethlehem High School

The Honor Society’s mission is to recognize student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence and enhance career opportunities for career and technical students. Attributes of Honor Society members include skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, leadership and knowledge.

The Capital Region Career & Technical School offers more than 40 programs of study for high school and adult students at its campuses in Albany (Colonie) and Schoharie.
