Mohonasen Foundation benefit on November 7

Enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing and a chance to win silent auction prizes

How would you like to enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing? Does the prospect of a silent auction tempt you? If you knew such an evening would help improve academic achievement at Mohonasen, would you be interested? All of this is possible by attending the Mohonasen Foundation’s Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction on Friday, November 7 at Mallozzi’s.

The Mohonasen Foundation has responded to proposals from district faculty for academic innovations by providing over $60,000 in grants over the past decade. Recently Bradt School students benefitted through grants for a Book Nook, vocabulary programs, and sensory integration tool kits. Pinewood School received Orff music instruments for music classes, books for struggling readers and materials to start a chess club. Foundation funding brought special reading materials, telescopes and observatory equipment to Draper Middle School. High school students’ academic programs were enriched through grants for graphing calculators, character education programs and flight simulation equipment. Descriptions of these grants and a listing of several more can be found on the foundation’s Web site, www.mohonasenfoundation.org.

If such programs and projects for Mohonasen students are to continue, the foundation must raise funds to meet the increasing demand for grants. All proceeds from the Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction will go directly to grants for academic programs. The grants will enable the foundation to continue providing resources for materials, training and projects that raise student achievement.

Mohonasen residents and all friends of Mohonasen can help the foundation continue its mission while enjoying a lively evening of fun on November 7. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by an Italian buffet. The silent auction and dancing will be enjoyed throughout the evening. Tickets are $40. They can be obtained by calling Craig Radliff at 356-4358.
