Mohonasen stages DWI accident
May 7, 2009
On Thursday, May 7, Mohonasen High School
held a mock DWI crash. Members of Rotterdam Ambulance, Rotterdam
Fire District #2, the Rotterdam Paramedics, the Rotterdam Police,
DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, and the New York State Police were on
hand to make the event feel like reality to the students.
The cars for the event were donated by Bobars Towing, and
Mohonasen’s own theater students acted out the many different
roles.
At the same time the mock crash was taking place, some students were
also taking part in a DWI assembly. Students heard from two parents
who lost their children to DWI accidents, as well as Schenectady
County Assistant District Attorney Mike Tiffany.
